Dorothea Viehmann was one of the main sources for the tales of the Grimm Brothers. She was born as Catharina Dorothea Pierson in Rengerhausen, near Kassel as the daughter of Jean Isaac Pierson, owner of a tavern and Martha Gertrud Spangenber.
Christian Fuchs is a Peruvian-Chilean artist whose work revolves around rethinking family and personal memory. His latest series, “Transgeneration,” uses photography as a medium to evoke his ancestors. Through performance, costumes, characterization and sometimes: prosthetics, Fuchs is able to use his body as a vehicle to transport us to the past. “Whatever it takes,” he says--going all the way from shaving to letting a beard grow for almost a year, he strives to appear as similar as the character he is going to play.
